23rd ACT Telstra Women in Business Awards

On Friday 29 of September, Anna Brieger and Kaylene Knox attended the 23rd ACT Telstra Women in Business Awards at the National Gallery of Australia. Anna has provided an overview of her experience of the evening below.

“The night started with a champagne reception where they were able to rub shoulders with some very
special women who have achieved great things within the ACT. We were then seated in one of the
halls for a spectacular dinner accompanied by an awards ceremony honouring some even more
spectacular achievements.

We were lucky enough to listen to a speech by business woman Holly Ransom, the CEO of the
company Emergent, which was entertaining as well as inspiring. The real highlight of the evening
however, was seeing Elise Apolloni being crowned the ACT Telstra Business Woman of the Year. This
was following wins in both the Entrepreneur category as well as the Young Business Woman of the
year. Elise is the owner of Capital Chemist Wanniassa where she commenced working at the age of 14. Her story was one of hard work and determination and I think everyone in the room agreed that she deserved the win. Both Kaylene and myself walked away from the awards proud to be women and motivated to achieve all we can in our lives.”
