The Rehabilitation Specialists Newsletter – October 2015

The Rehabilitation Specialists October Newsletter!

What a busy two months it has been since our last newsletter! The Rehabilitation Specialists held a successful Case Management Forum, presented at a forum for one of our insurance customers, launched our Rehabilitation Online service (both in Australia and overseas), and welcomed a new member to our administrative team, Griffin Tucker.

As many of you know, interpersonal conflicts within the workplace are one of the common situations that give rise to workers compensation claims. Many of these conflicts could be addressed in the early stages through the implementation of conflict resolution or mediation strategies to address the issues and have an agreed action plan to move forwards. In addition, workplace conflicts can also be a barrier to progress with return to work. The Rehabilitation Specialists provide conflict resolution and workplace mediation services, and believe that having employees within workplaces skilled in the delivery of mediation or conflict resolution meetings could have a significant impact on reducing external costs and managing interpersonal conflict early. In turn this leads to a reduction in time off work, workers compensation claims, and workplace disruption. We will be running a five day Accredited Workplace Mediation Training course in November 2015 – read here to find out more.

A number of our customers have approached us regarding providing services outside of metropolitan areas and this has lead to the development of our Rehab Online service. The goal was to find a cost effective way to deliver the same high standard of services anywhere in Australia or around the world. We are also able to travel to areas such as Tasmania or the Northern Territory and place consultants there for up to one week at a time to undertake face to face assessments and medical reviews, splitting the travel costs between any cases seen over that week. The ongoing management of the case would then be facilitated via our Rehab Online service. We are excited about this service and would be very happy to meet with any workplaces who would like further information.

Return to health, return to work!

Rehab Online

Do you need a health professional in a remote or international location?
Are you looking for value for money?
Do you require assistance from a well established, approved Workplace Rehabilitation Provider?
Do you need a multi-disciplinary approach?
Is lack of communication a barrier?

The Rehabilitation Specialists can offer all of our standard services via online technology for clients located in areas outside of NSW and ACT. We offer this service as many of our customers have employees located in areas where we do not have offices and where it can be difficult to find consultants with the right experience and qualifications. Our online services are delivered to the same high quality standard and are efficient, outcome driven and timely. A client focused holistic approach is implemented to ensure effective injury prevention, injury/illness management, return to work, consultancy and advisory services.

The Cost Savings Matrix below demonstrates the average cost saved by using the online service for an assessment in a distant location. Over the course of a case with attendance at ongoing meetings this cost would increase. Using Rehab Online would ensure that costs were kept to a minimum.
