The Rehabilitation Specialists (The Rehab Specialists) is a Canberra based NDIS service provider. Here at The Rehab Specialists, we provide clinic based and mobile Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Exercise Physiology services for children and adults in Canberra. We are currently seeking passionate Occupational Therapists to join our friendly and diverse team. We have multiple roles available for senior or specialist paediatric OT’s.

About the Role:

The caseload can be tailored dependent on area of interest and experience. Reporting to the NDIS Regional Manager (Occupational Therapist), the Occupational Therapist will work with NDIS participants aged 7+ years (and their communities) to provide:

  • Assessment, development and implementation of individual – client centred – intervention programs.
  • Promotion of positive client outcomes through the provision of high quality clinical services, networking, health promotion activities and education as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintenance of a participant’s independence and safety through ADL upskilling programs.
  • Identification and establishment of goals with participants, carers and families.
  • Complex Functional Assessments and reports.
  • NDIS Plan Recommendation reports.
  • Assisting to develop resources and to grow services provided to participants.
  • Minor and complex home modification assessments and recommendations.
  • Assistive Technology assessments and recommendations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Complex home modification assessments and recommendations.
  • Assistive Technology assessments and recommendations.

You will also have:

  • A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, or associated degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be committed to delivering person-centred care.
  • AHPRA registration.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
  • NSW NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Have a positive attitude, be a team player, and enjoy contributing ideas.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Strong desire to develop your skills in an NDIS setting.
  • Senior Occupational Therapist: prior experience in any setting, NDIS setting desirable but not essential.
  • Paediatric Occupational Therapist: paediatric experience preferred but not essential.
