Psychological Injury Management in the Workplace Congress in Melbourne

Fiona Fonti attended the Psychological Injury Management in the Workplace Congress in Melbourne on 1 and 2 June 2016 which was an event facilitated by Intrepid Minds (http://www.intrepidminds.com.au/).  The speakers were excellent and it was exciting to hear of the many innovative strategies being implemented to assist with managing (and preventing) psychological injuries in the workplace including upskilling managers, psychological health and well-being programs, engagement programs and early intervention strategies.

Some of the topics covered included:

  • Developing effective internal wellbeing program to build a mentally healthy workplace
  • Pro-actively engaging with employees to reduce risk and improve overall mental health
  • Managing workplace conflicts and bullying
  • Supporting and managing psychologically injured staff members
  • Discussing treatment options for psychologically injured employees
  • Facilitating earlier return to work process
  • Providing suitable duties to support employee recovery
  • Building resilience, maintaining psychological health and wellbeing
